According to the Columbus Dispatch, Parking Solutions and Capital Transportation will take over the parking and shuttle operations from Central Parking on March 1.
Airport spokesman David Whitaker said the airport board chose the
new structure to ensure continued strong management of its biggest
source of revenue. Parking accounted for about $22 million in revenue
for Port Columbus last year.
The two new companies in charge of parking are based in Columbus; Central Parking is based in Nashville, Tenn.
Over 200 workers are affected by the change. However usually the line workers are kept and only the senior managers are replaced. In some cases, every staff member including managers are maintained. Central is unions, Parking Solutions and Capital Transportation are not. That could effect how some workers look a applying for positions with the new companies
