Pay for a space, eat a pizza

Pay for a space, eat a pizza

I have very mixed emotions about this one —

In Charlotte, LA, a group paid the fee to park but then instead of a car, put in a few tables and served pizza they had bought at a local market. They gave the pizza away. The beer was non alcoholic. The got a ticket.

The organizer of the event is fighting the ticket and hoping to make it the "trial of the century." Read about it here.

On one hand, of course the parking spaces are to be used for cars.  On the other, he did pay for the space and as long as he met all the time constraint rules, so be it.

Now, he may have been in violation of another ordinance (public assembly without a permit or whatever), but that’s what courts are for.

And who says parking isn’t if nothing else, eclectic.
