POM and New Haven

Anyone who said the single space meter was dead is wrong — witness this deal between POM and the City of New Haven:

POM Incorporated is proud to announce it has been awarded a
$1.5 million contract to provide over 3,000 new electronic parking meters to
the City of New Haven, Connecticut.  The meters will be equipped to accept
Parcxmart® cards, a merchant-driven electronic payment solution for small
dollar transactions, already in circulation in New Haven.

Other features include POM’s signature
high-visibility enforcement signal and the ability to upgrade to vehicle
detection and wireless network.  POM is a privately owned American company
descended from the inventor of the parking meter and today specializes in
single- to four-space electronic parking meters.  The New Haven award comes after a 2-phase RFP, successful pilot installation, and delivery
negotiations to accommodate the city’s new rate increase to roll out

.

Congratulations to Bobra and all the gang at POM.
