Power Lunches

Power Lunches

Can you believe it, three days and three power lunches.  I don’t really eat lunch. I have a big meal mid morning, and then don’t eat again until dinner. With these high test meals every day for three days, I am beginning to swell up like the Hindenburg.

Truthfully, lunch is a good time to get to know people on a more personal level. Although we scrupulously keep to ice tea and away from hard liquor that might creep into a dinner meeting, there is certainly time to learn more about the people around the table between courses. The relaxed atmosphere means you can bounce back and forth between a proud parent talking about his son or daughter and serious business. It makes the business part easier to handle. How could someone who just told you about his impending granddaughter mislead you about the widget order he is about to place?

There is a problem with the waistline and don’t give me that hooha about eating salads and skipping dessert. These lunches were in the finest restaurants on the eastern seaboard. No sane person skips the house specialty…

I guess this means a crash diet next week — lets check the calendar -Cheesecake Factory on Monday, My favorite Mexican restaurant on Wednesday, sigh…Maybe it means no dinner…
