San Francisco and Westminster

Rumor control is alive and kicking. According to sources close the project, the City of San Francisco MTA has awarded the installation of over 5,000 on street sensors, a part of its Sfpark project to Streetsmart of Atlanta. The article printed in the October edition of PT indicated that Streetline of San Francisco was the sole supplier. We understand that Streetsmart is installing a portion of the sensors.

The City of Westminster, a section of Greater London, has “gone out” to bid on 14 of its garages in the Trafalgar, Chinatown, Oxford Street, St. John’s Wood areas. The agreement differs from traditional leases as we have seen in Chicago and Pittsburgh, as it was a “pay as you go” lease. A number of parking companies bid the project. The large investments banks and funds seemingly weren’t interested since little up front money was involved. Westminster hasn’t released the name of the successful bidder.
