Scranton installed parking meters to raise money for the city. In this area they got no takers. Workers at a local plant simply moved their cars a couple of blocks away and took up space that was being used by local residents.

Either the reporter was extremely short or they were the tallest meters I have ever seen.
Now the city needs a residential parking program for the blocks to where all the workers moved their cars!
Parking meters are never to raise money but to establish a parking policy and avoiding car cruising.
