Slugfest at Parking Conference

I missed this one in San Jose — Seems a functionary from the San Francisco Department of Parking and Traffic and a hero of the parking industry got into a rather warm discussion that went something like this:

I didn’t know who this guy was and with several onlookers present I
told him that parking was woefully mismanaged in San Francisco.  He claimed that
parking was well managed, and I responded that you can’t open the daily
newspaper without reading about some scandal, such as massive embezzlement from
the city’s parking garages, huge underpayment of the city’s parking taxes,
Danielle Steele’s 26 residential parking permits for one address, and how people
who beg for a living work until midnight in downtown but the parking meters quit
work at 6pm.  I’m sorry the whole conference didn’t hear our exchange.

I can’t give you the names, as both parties are trying to regain the decorum that typically surrounds meeting of parking pros, however I think the content speaks for itself
