Standard on Buying Spree?

Standard has bought Sound Parking in Seattle. Read about it here.  Sound runs 55 locations in the Seattle area. Principals William Beattie and Brad Parrish will stay on and run the Northwest for Standard. With the purchase of System Parking Illinois interests a couple of weeks ago that brings the increase in Standard’s operations to over 2000 locations. Jim Wilhelm and his team seem to be on the move.

For those of you who are counting — Central now has 3400 locations, down from over 4700 in 1999, Imperial Parking (Impark) runs 1750 in the US and Canada, Ampco System runs 1700 locations. Ace lists 400 as its number and Republic 350. (These number are from their press releases and web sites.)

The consolidation continues

  1. similar activity going on with Standard in the NYC area! What an agressive company. Interesting to see that Central is the leader in seattle.
