I’m on the road in DC. Yesterday Dawn and I met with Tim Haahs. This unassuming consultant/architect/engineer and president of his firm tells an amazing story of courage and success. After overcoming overwhelming health issues, Tim has built a firm over the past 10 years that has 70 percent of the market in his area (basically the PA/NJ area). His 35 person company has terrific digs in a Philly suburb and has just opened an office in the Miami are.
Three reasons for his success – Go the extra mile — Return customer’s phone calls the same day — Keep the client informed every step of the way.
Tim also has made the decision not to consult with other firms. If he isn’t the prime on the project, he doesn’t do it. His full service shop enables him to handle the consulting, design, and engineering. "To do the job properly, we must have direct access to all the people involved in the project, including the owner AND users of the garage."
