Taxpayer’s Concerns

Taxpayer’s Concerns

I got this from reader Mark:

“City staff does not know if the nearly 50 percent drop in parking ticket revenue, the biggest moneymaker for the parking utility, is because fewer forfeitures are being handed out or because people are simply not paying their fines. Nor can they say if the reason why parking meter fees dropped $7,409 in that same time frame has to do with fewer people plugging meters or a drop in traffic in those areas.”

He comments that if he were a taxpayer in this city, he would be concerned about how they were managing their tax dollars.
