There’s still at least 20 million to be collected in back taxes in LA

I hear through my source at the Parking Network (Clyde) that his company has found over $20 million in unpaid taxes and the city of LA hasn’t collected anything. He thinks the big parking companies should be contacting the city and demanding a meeting with the new City Controller…Wendy Greuel. The big three in LA , Ampco, Standard, and Central pay over half the parking tax collected by the city so they should have some clout. If they were to work together, they may be able to force the city to start collecting these back taxes and get these scofflaws to pay up and level the playing field.

It seems to me that if these small, under the radar companies were forced to pay their taxes, they would either charge their clients an appropriate fee ( I know of some cases where these folks run the garages for free ) or be out of business.

Seems fair to me.
