UK, Hospitals, and Pay Parking

Somewhere in the Magna Carta there must be a section about free parking, particularly at hospitals. The Brits are going nuts over parking charges at hospitals.  Now its the staff that is up in arms, particularly since they claim they are so underpaid and have to pony up $40 a month to park.  "It just isn’t fair."

I have asked Peter Guest, PT’s correspondent on all things "over the pond" to delve into this issue and give us some insite on just why folks who live on the sceptered isle feel so strongly about being able to park their cars wherever they want at no charge.  His report will follow upon his return from Dubai, or wherever he is in his quest for truth in parking.
