Indianapolis — According to an article, you pull up to the curb in front of your terminal, get out, give your keys to the valet and you are off. When you return you use your cell to call for your vehicle and by the time you get to the curb, its there, waiting for you.
Los Angeles — They have a "lot" across the street from one terminal. You drop your car off there and then walk across the street and go up an elevator or escalator to get to your plane. I’m not sure what happens when you return. When I saw them last week, there were a bunch of valets sitting under an umbrella waiting for someone to drop off their cars.
Valet is all about service. If you want people to use the service you have to provide it. Indianapolis and their operator, Parking Solutions, seem to provide the service and I would guess that they will do better than the 100 cars per day in six months. LAX, my guess is that the valet operation will close or change. It’s not worth much for me to give my car to a valet and then schlep.
You would think that LA should understand about Valet operations, after all you can get valet parking practically everywhere
