No this is not political, but just as it seems most troubles on the planet can be tracked back to global warming, so too, does Wal Mart get the blame for anything that happens around it. In this case, Vancouver, Washington is requiring the retailer to stop its practice of letting RV’s park overnight in its lots. Don’t think this is a contentious issue. Read the article and the comments about it here.
I’m afraid I have to agree with the RV drivers. Although I don’t "RV" myself, I can certainly understand their position. First of all, they aren’t "trash". Most of those suckers cost more than a house and much more to maintain. Second — There is usually plenty of room in those parking lots, since the city required Wal Mart to build more spaces than it needed (see below), and lastly, most folks in RV parks I know are great, decent people who are usually the victims of the crime that Vancouver is concerned about.
The word is out, and RV’s will not be parking in Vancouver, they will not be stopping in Vancouver, and the bucks they were leaving there will be left elsewhere. Parking in complicated.
