I met yesterday here in Atlanta with Tony Paalz, the new President and CEO of Park ‘n Fly. The tables were turned and Tony asked more questions that I did. I felt like I was in an “off airport parking focus group.”
He asked how Park n’ Fly could get my business. I told him that what I liked about my current parking vendor at LAX (Wally Park) was their affinity program, particularly the valet operation. I signed up for the program, gave my credit card and from then on, I was transparent to the system. When I arrived, I dropped my car off just inside the gate and got in the shuttle. I was whisked to the airport. On return I gave my ticket number to the shuttle driver and when we arrived at the lot, my car was there, door open, receipt on the seat, ready to go. I got in and drove out. No muss no fuss. This was very important to me. When I return from a flight, I don’t want to wait in line, mess around with cards or cash. I just want to go. Tony was taking notes.
