David Fairbaugh from Preferred Parking in Charlotte stopped me on the IPI show floor and noted that the city of Charlotte had a derth of parking spaces but would not allow private companies to open surface lots, even temporarily, on land they owned or leased in the central city area. They would prefer, I guess, that structures be built. I can’t help be agree with David that whenever the government gets involved in private enterprise, things go bad.
He’s been pleading with the city to allow him to build temporary surface lots, but to no avail.
Sigh
