Why do These Stories seem to come from the UK or Australia?

Stories about parking enforcement officer abuse, that is. Seldom a week goes by that I don’t find a Brit who has spat upon a traffic warden, or an Aussie who has been bitten by a rabid angry parker. I just don’t see as many stories about these things in the US, and we are what, six times the size of the UK and a dozen times the size of Australia.

It’s difficult for me to believe it’s because we are a kinder gentler people. I mean come on, Americans are known as cowboys who fight for their rights, and one of those is free parking. Does it have anything to do with our officer’s being a tad more interactive with the parkers, or what?

Any ideas?
