Dave Murphy, the president of USA Eagle Carports, has a background in high-rise building erection. In the late 1990s, Murphy saw an increased need for covered parking in multifamily housing and airport parking.

What would people be surprised to learn about your company?
Many people don’t realize we’re a full turnkey provider. We handle design, engineering, materials, and installation nationwide. Our proprietary installation system enables us to deliver carports faster than competitors while keeping quality and durability uncompromised and helping clients stay ahead of schedule.
What are the biggest surprises or changes you’ve seen in the industry during the past five years?
The rise of solar integration in covered parking has been the most notable shift. Businesses are turning to solar carports as a smart alternative, or complement, to rooftop solar, enabling them to go green while protecting vehicles and fleets. It’s a win-win combination that’s reshaping how parking lots are viewed.
Do you have a particular segment or segments that you focus on?
Our strongest presence is in airport parking and multifamily developments, but our work spans a wide spectrum. From schools and businesses to government facilities, we’ve built covered parking solutions for nearly every type of organization across the country, including installing carports on tops of parking garages!
What do you expect will have the biggest impact on the parking industry in the next five years?
Solar power will be the game-changer. Many companies seeking renewable energy simply don’t have the rooftop space required. Solar carports bridge that gap, providing the square footage needed to generate power while adding value through covered parking.
Please tell us about any philanthropy your company is involved in.
We support programs in India that teach rural women a trade and technical skills, helping them build sustainable futures for their families. Locally, we contribute to an animal rescue that provides foster homes and adoptions, connecting pets with loving homes and keeping them out of kill shelters.
