ParkMobile, a provider of smart parking and mobility solutions, will launch an e-mobility service provider in North America later this year. The electric vehicle (EV) charging service will be powered by ParkMobile’s sister brand Parkopedia, the connected car services provider. ParkMobile’s existing base of 65 million users and its smart parking and mobility platform will enable closer cooperation with charge point operators and fleet providers to offer an EV charging and payment experience via in-vehicle head units and the ParkMobile app. 

Parking operator LAZ Parking announced it has acquired a majority interest in FleetLogix, a provider of fleet management and staffing services serving the transportation, logistics, and fleet services industries. FleetLogix primarily serves rental car agencies, providing managed labor services that include transportation and cleaning of rental cars at more than 37 airports nationwide. Other services provided by the company include onsite management, human resources, payroll, and recruiting functions; shuttle bus driving; maintenance support; valet/check-in services and porters; and lost and found management.

LAZ Parking also announced it has acquired a majority interest in Freight Ninja, a provider of truck, trailer, and fleet parking management solutions. Based in Lombard, Illinois, Freight Ninja operates a network of 50 leased or managed industrial outdoor storage locations across the United States.   

Parking management company Propark Mobility announced that the company has acquired VIP Valet, a provider of valet parking services based in Cleveland, Ohio. Founded in 2009 by Max Niyazov, VIP Valet specializes in valet services for hotels, restaurants, private events, and healthcare facilities.

The City of Asheville, North Carolina, announced the launch of the mobile parking payment app Flowbird, beginning June 2. Flowbird was selected through a competitive bidding process after the expiration of the city’s contract with its previous parking app provider, Passport Labs.

Contactless payment provider HONK announced the appointment of David Hoyt as chief strategy officer. Hoyt has previously held leadership positions at ParkMobile, parking management systems provider T2 Systems, and the parking management and technology provider SP Plus Corporation.

Survision, a provider of vehicle recognition technology, announced its latest integration with Park Loyalty, the provider of the Pro Solutions® software platform for omnichannel violations management. This integration enables parking operators to combine Park Loyalty with PlatEnforce, Survision’s mobile parking enforcement solution, to streamline enforcement workflows, reduce reliance on manual patrols, and accelerate citation processing.  

Parking reservations and payment provider JustPark announced that it is to become the official parking partner of The O2, the 20,000-seat arena in London. The new multi-year partnership is the first of its kind between an event operator and parking company in the UK, according to JustPark. The company will be introducing a range of new parking solutions for all The O2’s visitors, including daily and event-specific reservable options and on-arrival cashless parking.

The City of Sacramento, California, and Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) are partnering to launch automated bike lane enforcement, making Sacramento the first U.S. city to enforce bike lanes using technology installed on transit buses. This initiative expands upon SacRT’s automated bus stop enforcement program, which currently equips 100 SacRT buses with camera systems to identify and report vehicles illegally parked along bus stops. Now, that same technology will also target illegal parking in bike lanes — a move by the City of Sacramento to protect vulnerable road users and improve roadway safety citywide. Hayden AI is providing the automated bus stop and bike lane enforcement camera systems for SacRT buses, and Duncan Solutions is providing the violation processing software. All evidence packages of parking violations detected by the camera systems are reviewed and ultimately approved or rejected by parking enforcement officers with the City of Sacramento.

The City of Sacramento also selected TKH Security to implement its Park Assist Solution in the Memorial Garage, a 10-story facility with more than 1,100 spaces. Expected to be complete in late 2025, the installation will include the M5 smart sensor, which monitors up to six spaces — three on each side — with more than 99% accuracy. The M5’s customizable full-spectrum LED indicators can display different colors to denote ADA-accessible spaces, EV spots, and space availability, enabling safer and faster decision-making for drivers. 

Cleverciti, a provider of curb management technology, announced a collaboration with the City of Pasadena, California, to provide real-time parking data and reduce congestion. Cleverciti’s aerial sensors will enable Pasadena to monitor parking occupancy, optimize space utilization, and offer dynamic guidance to drivers seeking available spots.

Ocra, a provider of parking revenue management software, announced the appointment of Chris Elliston as chief revenue officer (CRO). Elliston most recently served as CRO at ParkHub (now JustPark).

Parking Base, a provider of customized cloud-based parking management solutions, announced that it has been selected by Rutgers University to provide a digital parking permitting program for the university’s campuses. Also partnering on the program are Park Loyalty, a provider of omnichannel violations management, and Modii, a data integration and parking intelligence provider. Park Loyalty will provide compliance and enforcement services while Modii’s wayfinding technology will enable the university to provide real-time parking availability data to parkers via the university parking app.  

Parking customer service provider Parker Technology and the parking software firm Get My Parking announced the launch of their application programming interface (API) integration. Get My Parking’s ExpressLane parking access revenue control system (PARCS) platform enhances customer journeys by digitizing and streamlining parking operations. This new integration enables users of Parker Technology’s platform to deliver enhanced customer support experiences.

Q-Park, the European off-street parking infrastructure owner and operator, announced that it acquired Park One, the seventh-largest private parking management company in Germany and the operator of 41 parking facilities with more than 12,800 parking spaces.

Zevtron, a provider of smart EV charging software and hardware solutions, and Convergentz, the Houston-based provider of advanced building automation and connected real estate solutions, announced a partnership to provide EV charging technology. Through this partnership, Convergentz will sell, install, and service Zevtron’s EV charging technology throughout Southeastern Texas.

The City of Bloomington, Indiana, announced that it has partnered with the consulting firm Walker Consultants to conduct a citywide parking review focused on how effectively Bloomington’s parking systems serve its workers, visitors and neighborhoods. The review will closely examine the logistics and rates of on-street parking, residential zones, garages, and surface lots managed by the city. Walker will obtain benchmarks from comparably sized cities to make informed recommendations to the Parking Services Division intended to strengthen customer service, inclusion and accessibility, and equity and fairness.

Princeton University announced that Kevin Creegan has been named director of Transportation and Parking Services. Creegan has worked for Princeton’s Department of Public Safety since 2012 and has held multiple leadership roles, including serving 10 years as a patrol captain, overseeing campus police and security operations.

Parking guidance technology provider Portier USA announced a partnership with the parking technology integrator Precision Technology Solutions (PTS). Through this partnership, PTS becomes Portier’s exclusive installation and servicing partner throughout the New York Metro Tri-State and Mid-Atlantic regions.   

Parking Guidance Systems, Inc. (PGS) announced that it has acquired ParkZen, a parking software development company based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. ParkZen was incubated within the Louisiana State University ecosystem and funded by its management team and a number of individual investors. Capital to support the acquisition was provided by the employees and board members of PGS.

Clemson University Parking and Transportation Services announced that it has been named an accredited parking organization by the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI). Clemson is one of only 21 universities in the country to receive the designation and the first in South Carolina.  

Terawatt Infrastructure, a company powering electrified fleets with a network of charging solutions, announced that its medium- and heavy-duty EV charging hub in Rancho Dominguez, California, is now fully operational. Located 12 miles north of the ports of Long Beach and Los Angeles, the Rancho Dominguez site is strategically positioned to support electric trucking fleet operations in and out of the largest container ports in the United States. The private site, shared among multiple fleets, will house a total of 20 pull-through and bobtail DC fast-charging stalls and boast a capacity of 7 MW, enabling charging for up to 125 trucks per day.  

Collectric, a Belgium-based specialist in the electrification of parking facilities, announced that it secured growth financing from the Rabo Transition Fund, a fund of the Dutch multinational banking and financial services company Rabobank. This funding enables Collectric to meet surging demand for EV charging solutions at residential and work locations. Collectric will use the financing to realize and manage electric charging solutions for real estate owners, parking operators,
and real estate managers.
