Access and mobility solutions provider FAAC Parking Solutions announced the introduction of distinct leadership for its two flagship product lines: HUB Parking Technology and TIBA Parking Systems. As part of the new organizational structure, FAAC Technologies has appointed Robert Kempton, its business unit director, as interim general manager of HUB North America. The company appointed Ilan Lev as general manager of TIBA North America and Associated Time Instruments, while continuing in his role as managing director of TIBA Ltd in Israel.

The City Council for the City of Oakland, California, approved the installation of 244 Level 2 public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations from the parking technology company Flash. To be operational by the end of 2025, the chargers will be installed at no cost across eight downtown city parking facilities, and the city will receive half of net revenues from charging. This new partnership with Flash will help implement Oakland’s Zero Emission Vehicle Action Plan and 2030 Equitable Climate Action Plan, which together provide a roadmap to a zero-emission transportation system in Oakland.
The University of Michigan announced the launch of a new virtual parking permit system utilizing license plate recognition (LPR) technology, set to go live July 1. This system modernizes the traditional parking permit system by replacing physical parking permits with the convenience of using a vehicle’s license plate as a parking credential.

The company will deploy space-detection technology, including aerial sensors that will deliver real-time data on parking occupancy, turnover, and compliance. This data-driven approach will help Bethlehem enhance parking efficiency and improve overall traffic flow in key areas.
Meanwhile, the City of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Cleverciti have collaborated to deploy curb detection and guidance technology to streamline curb management operations and enhance the parking experience for the city’s residents and visitors, according to the company.
Portier USA, the U.S. branch of parking guidance technology provider Portier, announced that it has completed installation of a smart parking technology suite at the new Neabsco Mills Potomac Commuter Garage in Woodbridge Virginia. Comprising 1,200 sonic parking guidance sensors, 40 digital displays, rooftop ultrasonic counters and an outdoor camera system, and unified cloud-based software, Portier’s technology provides real-time information to commuters about how many parking spaces are available in the garage, and where they can be found.
Get My Parking (GMP), a provider of smart parking solutions, announced the launch of its flagship product, ExpressLane, at River Landing Shops & Residence, a residential, commercial, and office development in Miami, Florida. ExpressLane delivers a fully digital parking experience, powered by a white-labeled app customized for River Landing. With 18 lanes and more than 2,500 parking spaces, River Landing’s fully gated facility now operates with enhanced efficiency, powered by GMP’s artificial-intelligence-driven LPR technology.
Video customer service provider Parker Technology and cloud-based parking management solutions provider Parking Base announced the launch of their application programming interface (API) integration. This API enables users of Parker Technology’s software platform to look up permit information, validate permit status, and push ticket rates in both gated and gateless environments.
The City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, condemned the Capital City Plaza Parking Ramp, located at 50 4th Street and owned by Madison Equities. On April 2, the city inspected the parking facility and posted a notice of the condemnation, effective immediately. The notice ordered all drivers and vehicles to vacate the premises, citing public health and safety concerns for all guests and neighboring properties. The condemnation occurred after city inspectors found several areas of concern, including blocked exits, exposed electrical circuits, inoperable equipment, and water leaks in the parking ramp. The city also discovered that Madison Equities had failed to routinely test its fire suppression systems, the structural integrity of the ramp, and the water backflow prevention system, which separates contaminated water from clean water.

Under the terms of Meters for Trees, PayByPhone will plant one verified tree on its client’s behalf for every multi-space meter, and one tree for every 10 single-space parking meters in a client’s operation that are removed.
