Looking to raise the profile of the parking industry and its exceptional leaders, a trio of parking advocates has created the world’s first Parking Hall of Fame. Launched today, the new independent, nonprofit organization will honor individuals whose standout careers have had a lasting, positive effect on the parking industry.
‘Elevate and affirm’ the industry
“The organization’s mission is to honor parking professionals who have shaped our field, inspired others, and elevated the standards of excellence in parking for generations to come,” according to the October 30 news release announcing the formation of the Parking Hall of Fame. “Through honoring these exceptional leaders, The Parking Hall of Fame seeks to inspire future generations of parking professionals to pursue innovation, service, and excellence in their own careers.”
The organization was cofounded by the following individuals:
- Katherine Beaty, who is serving as the treasurer of the Parking Hall of Fame
- Isaiah Mouw, who is serving as the hall of fame’s secretary
- Kevin Uhlenhaker, who is serving as its president
“For too long, many of our industry’s greatest contributors have gone unrecognized by the public-at-large,” Uhlenhaker said in the release. “The Parking Hall of Fame exists to change that — to honor the individuals who built this field, who quietly advanced technology, operations, and policy, and who dedicated their time and talent to making parking better for everyone.”
“The Parking Hall of Fame is yet another initiative to elevate and affirm the one-hundred-billion-dollar parking industry as the critically important profession that it is,” Mouw said in the release. “My hope is that this organization not only honors but also preserves the history of the titans who helped define the modern parking industry for decades to come.”
Nominating candidates
Nomination guidelines will be released in early November, at which point members of the parking community can nominate candidates at no cost for the Parking Hall of Fame. An independent Nominating Committee will evaluate nominations and select inductees.
“We expect this to be a highly competitive selection process,” Beaty said in the release. “Our goal is to ensure that each inductee stands out for extraordinary lifetime contributions — those who truly changed the course of our industry through innovation, leadership, and dedication. The Parking Hall of Fame is about honoring excellence at the highest level.”
The first inductees into the Parking Hall of Fame will be announced in Spring 2026. An official Induction Gala will occur shortly thereafter at the Parking Industry Expo Conference, which will be held March 30 – April 2 in Dallas, Texas.
Volunteers needed
The Parking Hall of Fame also seeks volunteers, sponsors, and additional members of the Board of Directors, Uhlenhaker said.
Beyond the three founding board members, additional board directors will be announced in the near future. Anyone from the parking industry interested in volunteering can apply on The Parking Hall of Fame website.
